How to compare medicine prices online without being misled

Updated 7 October 2026 · 1 min read

To compare medicine prices online, use the same brand and pack, check the price per tablet, make sure nothing is charged above the printed MRP, and compare the final bill including delivery. A headline discount on one item says little about what the whole order costs.

Four checks

  1. The same brand and pack. A ten-tablet strip and a fifteen-tablet strip are not comparable by strip price.
  2. The price per tablet. Divide the price by the number of tablets; this is the only fair comparison.
  3. The printed MRP. No one may legally charge above it. A "discount" is only real against the MRP on the pack.
  4. The final bill. Delivery fees and minimum-order rules change what you actually pay.
